''Waiting On'' Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine (linked here), that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
And the book I’m (impatiently) waiting for is Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.
This is the last book in the Anna and the French Kiss series. Each book follows a different set of characters so they can be read either as a series or standalones.
I am not the biggest fan of contemporary, but this series is incredible. I’ll even admit that Anna and the French Kiss means more to me than TFIOS (and that’s saying something). I relate to all the characters so closely and it made me cry quite a few times. Here’s a tip: If you get emotional over books, don’t read this one on a plane. I can tell you from experience that you will get a lot of strange looks.
Anyhow, I got to read the first few chapters of Isla (click here for my review/reaction to it), and it was amazing. Kind of torturous because now I have to wait until August 14th for it to come out. Even worse is that some people already have copies!
From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.
Their romantic journey is skillfully intertwined with those of beloved couples Anna and Étienne and Lola and Cricket, whose paths are destined to collide in a sweeping finale certain to please fans old and new.
Who else is excited- or as Etienne would say: ''Who else is bloody excited?!"
