Before I get into the review, I just want to say a huge thank you to Megan Duke for sending me a copy of this book to read and review! Had so much fun with it.

I don't even know where to start! Partly because this is my first review for this blog, but mainly because this book is incredible! What do you write about a book if you have no complaints whatsoever? This is definitely a book that all teens/young adults should read. The characters have to deal with and go through things that a lot of teens nowadays have to go through. For some reason it really reminded me of Looking For Alaska (John Green), so if you loved that you have to read this.

Small Circles is the story of four friends over four years of their young adult lives in Tennessee. Starting in their sophomore year at a boarding school and continuing through their freshman years at different universities, the friends face the same trials most teenagers face today, as well as a few other things. This inspiring story touches base with the struggles of defining oneself in spite of homosexuality, drug addiction, suicide, and heartbreak. Most of all it sends one message: it’s okay to be happy.

*Spoilers down below!*

Let me just say this: I love Larson. I can't explain why, I don't think there is actually a particular reason. I just really liked him from the moment we met him. To be honest I loved all of these characters. (And I totally ship Larson and Owen btw). There was so much character development through out this book! I only wish we saw a little more of Jade. I understand her character is very closed off and that's why we don't know that much about her. It was so nice when she started opening up towards the end of the book, I just wish that it happened a little earlier, or better yet, that this book was longer.

I thoughts of all the thing I wanted to write about this book and came up with so much, but that's when I thought it would be a happy ever after. Now all I can think is WHY OWEN?! Until his death I didn't even realise how much these characters and their happiness meant to me. The funeral was absolutely beautiful and I can't stop comparing this book to John Green novels. This book really did teach me that it's okay to be happy.

I absolutely love the way this book was written. It's fast pace and amazing storyline made it super easy to get through. I can easily relate to each of the characters in at least one way.
Usually I don't like the star rating system all that much but this book is with no doubt five stars!

I really advise you to pick up a copy of Small Circles. I personally can not wait to read the companion novels!

Thanks for reading and leave a comment! Have you read this amazing book? If yes comment your thoughts, do you agree with my opinions?
If not let me know if you want too!

  1. Great review, Sophie! Haven't heard of this book yet since I'm not a fan of contemporary or uplifting novels. It seems pretty good. How many stars would you reward it? ;)

    1. Thanks Chyna! <3 Five stars (at least xP)
