Huntley Fitzpatrick, author of My Life Next Door, has a new book coming out on April 15th this year!
So soon! It's called what I thought was true.
Here's what it's about:
''Gwen Castle's Biggest Mistake Ever, Cassidy Somers, is slumming it as a yard boy on her Nantucket-esque island this summer. He's a rich kid from across the bridge in Stony Bay, and she hails from a family of fishermen and housecleaners who keep the island's summer people happy. Gwen worries a life of cleaning houses will be her fate too, but just when it looks like she'll never escape her past-or the island-Gwen's dad gives her some shocking advice. Sparks fly and secret histories unspool as Gwen spends a gorgeous, restless summer struggling to resolve what she thought was true-about the place she lives, the people she loves, and even herself- with what really is.
I had the honor of reading a sneak-peak of this book before it comes out and I am so excited to read the rest! From the first three chapters I can already tell that this is one of those feel good books. Perfect to kick back and relax on spring break, or if you live in Australia like me to get away from the cold weather and rain, as the book is set on an island.
It's usually quite hard to judge characters after only having read a few chapters but I already love Gwen's family. They all seem a little crazy, a small group of outcasts living together and I can't wait to read more about them. I also can't wait to read more about Cass and find out what is going on between those two?!
I'm can't wait to read the rest of this book when it comes out. Make sure you get your copy on April 15th!
Thanks for reading and feel free to leave any questions or comments, I do reply to all of them.
